A good addition to any hot sauce collection, but beware it's heat!

Having been a fan of Melinda’s brand of hot sauces (they sell several different varieties, from mild to WILD!), I wanted to try one I hadn’t seen before. Melinda’s brand of sauces have always been of high quality heat and flavor.

I recently reviewed Louisiana Gold Pepper Sauce. It was a nice, middle of the road, flavorful sauce that I have used for several years. Melinda’s Naga Jolokia Fiery Hot Pepper Sauce is very much like Louisiana Gold, but, oh, about 50 times more intense! It is rather thick, with flakes of the Jolokia pepper floating in it. Very thick, with an overpowering vinegar taste, it has a somewhat Intense Tabasco flavor, and odor. This sauce is not for the faint of heart. It grabs your attention, and taste buds right from the start and lasts for several minutes. I can see this as an additive to chili, or a stew, perhaps even a BBQ sauce baste, but not to put directly on food.

Wikipedia says that the Naga Jolokia pepper is a hybrid pepper from Bangladesh, also known as a ghost chili. The sauce is imported from Costa Rica, and can be found at stores like Pier 1 or Cost Plus. A good addition to any hot sauce collection, but beware it’s heat!
